HEY THERE,

I'M SANDU!

I believe everyone can cook. You just have to start. Even I couldn't cook earlier. You make mistakes, you just have to learn from them. Trust me, you will get better in no time. So let's start today!

My Story

So, simply, I love cooking, I think I got this passion by looking at my mom cook every day. And you know what? Last year I started an Instagram page as well and people have been asking for my recipes for a long time now. So I decided to share them with you all…

I started Flavors of a Diva in September 2021 and the main point of this website is to share recipes and recipe videos. This is what I started as a casual hobby for nights and weekends while I was working as a marketing coordinator. Here you’ll find delicious and spicy recipes, especially Sri Lankan recipes with easy step-by-step photos and videos.

WANNA HEAR LONG STORY SHORT?

Beautiful memories

So when I was small, me and my brother were very notorious and if I were to tell you how notorious we were, we waited for our mom to leave the house and we did all the “Danga” work around the house. One is making Kottu Mee(instant noodles). I send my brother to the shop nearby and ask him to bring a packet of Kottu Mee and we quickly cook them before my mom comes home, actually, it’s more than 1 packet, let’s say 5 ;). Not only that, we didn’t stop with Kottu Mee, but we made other dishes like lentil curry and we were used to eat it with bread. I and my brother always cook something when my mom goes out. The best part is when she returns she won’t notice anything because we clean the kitchen, plus I always teach my brother not to tell anything to our mom or I always teach him how to answer. But there are times when she finds out about our cooking adventures. wanna know how? When she goes to the Pandan Plant, she notices all the leaves are missing. That’s when she knows that I cooked that day without her knowing. Lol. Long Story Short, I cooked since childhood but I always made my brother my partner in crime.

WANT MORE?

Although I started blogging as a hobby, this has now become a part of my life. I never thought I could get this much of followers within a short period of time. I should mention that my main inspiration is my Husband who is helping me daily with my blogging. Furthermore, I should really thank his patience, because after making a dish, it takes some time to serve it to the family because we have to take photos and it is really time-consuming. So I really have to thank my husband for having patience with me in this regard.
