How should we define salmon? I define it as a quick fix for something special. Not only that it is even good when someone comes over. There are different terms for this fish, some call it Salmon, and others call it Mackerel. Not only that there are even people who call it tinned fish. So today what I am going to teach you is how to make this dish quickly and easily. When you make this Tempered Mackerel dish, you can enjoy it with anything you want like rice, bread, and even roti. I think everyone has eaten this dish, especially a combo with Dhal and Coconut symbol. That combo is divine.
For us, Sri Lankans Tempered Mackerel/ Salmon means a quick dish that we can make during busy hours and we mainly cook this dish in three ways, and they are with mild coconut milk, Spicy curry, and Tempered. So today I am going to show you how to Tempered this Salmon.
This recipe will be useful for not only the people in Sri Lanka but also for the people who are abroad. I am telling that because it is really hard to find fresh fish in many foreign countries. So because of that, most of us are used to making this Tinned mackerel fish. But, I always recommend you eat fresh fish because of all the nutrients that you can get from fresh fish.
Tempered Mackerel Fish & Dhal curry is a favorite combo of every Sri Lankan. So if you guys like spicy food like me, I am going to show you how to make Spicy Tempered Mackerel Fish.
First, clean and remove all the bones from the fish.
Then add oil to a pan and add Ginger Garlic Paste.
Let it fry until it's golden brown and add Curry Leaves and mix well.
Next, add the Large Onion and mix well
After that add Tomato, Green Chilies, and Ghost Pepper and let it fry.
Then, add Turmeric Powder, Chili Powder, Chili Flakes, Black pepper & salt.
And mix well.
Then close the lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
Next, add the Mackerel Fish and mix carefully
Then close the lid again and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
Finally, remove the lid, mix well and ENJOY!!!
